Strip ~1 2" of the wire covering back and set as deep as possible in the butt splice. Crimp in place, and crimp the entire length to ensure good contact with the wire. It's a beautiful bag but the outside zipper pockets are deceiving, they're very small . My phone couldn't fit inside. No bad smell, the organization inside is good and the strap length is pefect. Because the outside zipper pockets are too small I may have to return it.
